The Role
The Willis Re UK team is a recognised market leader in the field of UK Motor business, and the opportunity has recently arisen for someone to join this team. Initially working on providing supporting broking services, the opportunity exists to develop their skills in terms of dealing with clients and reinsurers, and in respect of programme design and technical understanding. Although the focus of the role is specifically directed at the UK motor space, there will be the potential for the right individual to develop a broader range of expertise over time.
Major responsibilities: 
  • Assisting with the review and analysis of the underwriting data for Motor renewals.
  • Working with the team’s actuaries to model changes in the account, and to understand and be fully conversant with such analysis.
  • Developing a dialogue with separate clients with a view to becoming a trusted advisor supporting the work of the appropriate account executives.
  • Developing a relationship with the reinsurers active in this market, with a view to becoming a trusted trading partner, and providing marketing support for the appropriate account executives
  • Proactively handling the functionality of the administrative component of the account management with Ipswich and other internal stakeholders
  • Preparing and delivering client and market related documents and reports relating to the Motor account, such as renewal debriefs for individual clients, and market reports
Minimum Criteria / Skills Required: 
  • Needs to be keen to develop a deep understanding of this particular area of the market, and to be prepared to devote whatever time and energy is required to do so.
  • Needs to be mathematically competent to lead discussions with the team actuarial resource
  • Needs to be expert in Excel spreadsheet functionality and comfortable with dealing with large workbooks of data.
  • Needs good written and verbal articulacy skills, for report writing and presentation/communication with clients and reinsurers.
  • Needs to be a team-player, enthusiastic in supporting a team effort and comfortable that during the initial stages of the role, they will be playing a broadly supporting function.
