The Role
Overview
Internal compensation consultant supporting Western Europe and Human Capital and Benefits globally. Responsible for the design, implementation and communication of broad-based compensation strategy. Also responsible for ensuring WTW’s broad-based compensation programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable, and have an impact on WTW’s short and long-term strategic goals, aligning to WTW pay for performance philosophy.
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Conduct Risk: To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business
 
Major Accountabilities
  • Directs the development of the broad-based compensation philosophy, strategy, principles, metrics, and reporting for client groups
  • Leads sales incentive design for client groups. 
  • Provide strategic consulting and design support regarding salary structure and incentive targets. Apply best practice compensation principles to provide solutions designed to support business, team and leadership strategies particularly in the WTW integration period. 
  • Direct/manage compensation review administration cycle (including setting country salary increase budgets, manage annual process to allocated  pools for salary increases, short and long term incentive awards and sales incentive awards) and off-cycle process (including new hire, promotion and  market adjustment and severance compensation recommendations). 
  • Lead compensation initiatives including job titles/codes, annual benchmarking, and salary structure, bonus and LTI targets review/development and review and monitor the recognition program.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and various leadership teams to identify and address current and emerging total compensation trends and issues. Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans, which are cost effective and consistent with trends and corporate objectives.
  • Assure compensation programs are administered in compliance with policies and government regulations through audits, reports and personal contacts.  Collaborates with HRPs where Works Councils and Consultation is required in Western Europe for compensation related matters.
  • Collaborate with Finance on salary budgets, labour /comp cost tracking.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Behaviours
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience.  Master’s degree preferred. CCP,CECP preferred
  • Solid Human Resources exposure including sound management experience
  • Broad, in-depth knowledge of compensation and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of the market, trends, regulations and economic environment
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills; seasoned executive communication skills
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinking, with application to compensation and rewards processes/systems
  • High-energy with a strong work ethic, sense of urgency and high expectations for performance
