Marine and Cargo Manager that will have to grow our business portfolio, both in number of won risks and in annual income, through strengthening our current relationships with Insurance Companies, Retail and Third Party Producers and developing new relationships that will turn into new sources of income.

The Role

Some of the specific tasks that have to be accomplished are:

  • Visit clients quite often to increase the number of business we are offered to quote. Our clients are Insurance Companies, Third Parties Producers, the Insureds and our Retail with whom we are creating a Cross Selling strategy.
  • Once the information is received, it has to be analyzed in order to determine if it represents a true opportunity Reinsurance-wise and which Reinsurance Companies might be interested in quoting such business.
  • Create the Reinsurance Slips including the most relevant information of the risk and all the applicable clauses. The person should also perform a loss record analysis so he/she can approach Reinsurers with a specific strategy.
  • Negotiate with Reinsurers in order to achieve the best terms and conditions available.
  • Analyze Reinsurers Quote Slip and prepare our documentation to be sent to the “Client” (as described above) as a formal quote.
  • Seek for new prospects including direct Insureds, Third Party Producers and reinforce the relationship that we have with the Insurance Companies.
  1. Dar servicio a la cartera de clientes asignada, resolviendo todos sus requerimientos en tiempo y forma.
  2. Dar a nuestros clientes la asesoría necesaria para ayudarle en toma de decisiones, tanto en el diseño de planes de beneficios como en la recomendación para el mejoramiento de las condiciones generales si así lo requiere. Conseguir nuevos clientes o desarrollar nuevos negocios con los clientes existentes.
  3. Mantener y renovar, año con año, la cartera de clientes asignada.
  4. Mantener una buena relación personal con los principales ejecutivos de las compañías de seguros con las que trabajamos con el fin de fortalecer nuestras relaciones comerciales.
  5. Control y seguimiento de solicitudes de reembolso y cartas de pago directo de nuestros clientes en cuanto a pólizas de gastos médicos mayores; revisando  que la documentación esté completa y debidamente requisitaza para ser turnada al área de siniestros.
  6. Revisar que los siniestros pagados sean bien aplicados, tanto el deducible y coaseguro en caso de enfermedad; en caso de accidente, se eliminen estos.
  7. Asesor periódicamente y vía telefónicamente al cliente, respecto a los procedimientos y documentación necesaria para dar uso adecuado a sus pólizas de gastos médicos mayores; vitándolos periódicamente.
  8. Solicito cotización al área de placement previa, con el fin de presentarlas en la renovación
  9. Elaboración semestral de reportes de siniestralidad de cada uno de los clientes con la finalidad de mantenerlo informado del comportamiento de su póliza.
  10. Control de papelería del área de beneficios, de los inplants.
  11. Control de reportes de gastos de todos los asociados del área.

Job Requirements

The Requirements

    • Should have at least 2 years of experience in the Insurance Industry.
    • Should have worked for an Insurance Company in the Reinsurance Area, or for a Reinsurance Broker, or for a Reinsurer in the underwriting area.
    • Should be familiarized with the Marine and Cargo Wordings/Clauses and should know the basic technical requirements for placing business of these two lines of business.
    • Graduated from College, any career.
    • 90% of English. The person should be able to have a conversation and negotiation with any foreign person. Should also be able to write good emails and create Reinsurance Slips in English from the information in Spanish. Many of our preferred Reinsurance Companies are located outside of Mexico hence the need of a good level of English.
    • Required Softwares: Outlook, Word and Excel. Does not have to be an expert but the more they know how to exploit these tools the better.
    • Perfectionist. The person has to have a really big attention to details.
    • Positive attitude and proactivity at all times.
    • Should have a good background in the Insurance Industry.
