The Manager Research team assists in driving our clients’ decision making by sourcing the most appropriate ideas and ensuring we have the best solutions to implement them. We have one of the largest teams in the industry with over 100 researchers across the world’s major investment hubs following one global, integrated research process. Our expertise is built on a foundation of in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis, combining a thorough understanding of each asset class with the ability to identify skilled investment managers.

The Role

We currently have an opening for an Analyst in the Private Equity team based in London, UK who will work on primary, secondaries, and co-investments.  As part of our global Private Equity team, the analyst will analyse and execute private equity investments, drive the research agenda and processes, produce intellectual capital and market views, and support client work.

In this role you will gain exposure to the most highly respected private equity managers in the world, forming opinions on their skill and ability to consistently generate outperformance. As an important member of our research team, you will be expected to develop and work in close collaboration with your colleagues globally, grow our intellectual know-how, become a subject-matter expert and remain heavily engaged in financial market developments.

Role objectives

  • Source, analyse, and execute private equity primary, secondaries, and co-investments

  • Run and maintain financial models and tools

  • Produce investment memorandums and contribute to investment committee discussions

  • Research market opportunities using a variety of financial databases and produce periodic reports that support the team’s pipeline evaluation

  • Contribute to the development of the research function, improving methods and tools used

  • Assist in development and presentation of research findings both internally and externally

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • 1-3 years of finance, accounting experience through consulting, accounting, fund management or investment research roles

  • Self-starter who can balance a varied workload and dynamic role

  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Enquiring and analytically minded with a logical and thorough work ethic

  • CFA or IFoA qualified or progression towards either of these qualifications desirable but not essential

  • Proficiency in either European or Asian foreign languages preferred

  •  Ability to travel is required
