The Business


Create your future.  The Actuarial Service Center (ASC) is an internal service center within the US Retirement Line of Business that provides high quality and efficient annual valuation work for Defined Benefit plans served by the Retirement Consulting offices.  Work performed within the ASC includes annual actuarial funding and accounting valuations, government forms and benefit statements.

The Role


Explore an opportunity.  As an Analyst within the ASC, you will contribute, as part of a team, to a range of retirement valuation and accounting projects.  You will have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge of retirement plans, employ the most cutting edge tools and resources to complete required project, in addition to enhancing your project management skills.

 

Love your work.  Partner with team members on the following performance objectives:
  • Follow set process and utilize detailed tasks and steps to produce quality projects
  • Complete actuarial valuations and prepare valuation reports for consulting offices
  • Complete analysis and reconciliations of plan participant data
  • Reconcile plan assets
  • Prepare government reporting forms and annual employee benefit statements
  • Work with Team Leader to ensure that each project is completed on time and meets quality standards
  • Respond to all requests and communications effectively and efficiently
  • Contribute to profitability by completing budget spreadsheet, monitoring own time spent on project and maintaining accurate time records

About you.

 

□      Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a program with heavy emphasis on mathematics, statistics or engineering

□      We are looking for candidates who are not interested in writing future actuarial exams

□      Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), some experience with Visual Basic definitely helpful

□      Organized, detail-oriented, effective time management skills

□      Strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with colleagues at all levels

□      Strong client service orientation

□      Ability to work both independently and on client teams

□      Previous defined benefit pension experience a plus
