Willis Towers Watson is recruiting for a Consultant position in our market-leading Communications and Change Management (C&CM) Practice based in London or Reigate, UK. The applicant should have an expert knowledge of delivering communication and change plans in the context of UK Pensions & Benefits, with a strategic and creative mind-set.

The C&CM Practice has an enviable client portfolio that focuses on multi-national FTSE 100 companies across all sectors, including Financial Services, Oil & Gas/Natural Resources, Retail, Media, Pharmaceutical, Construction and Engineering, Transport and Manufacturing.

The team includes the core consulting team, as well as a design studio to help deliver the creative requirements.

The Role

As one of the Consultants in the team, the successful candidate will operate as a project and delivery leader in the UK’s CCM team with a focus on delivery and day-to-day client management. The role is primarily client and market facing, helping the team to co-ordinate and deliver leading employee benefit communications and engagement plans. For this role, there is a specific emphasis on experience in helping organisations to deliver change and engaging employee experiences in the UK Pensions & Benefits space.

The expectation is that candidate will have experience of delivering similar assignments. This would typically involve helping to shape the overall engagement and strategic approach, accountability for the end-to-end delivery (showing disciplines in marketing, communication, digital and consumer facing principles) and strong experience in managing multiple stakeholder groups.

If successful, the applicant should:

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of WTW’s Communication and Change Management methodologies and our broader Pensions & Benefits offering.

  • Lead relevant projects and project teams across our account portfolio including large and medium sized clients. Project leadership would include:

    • Close collaboration with the Director and Senior Consultant group to help shape the overall change and engagement strategies.

    • Contribution of new, innovative and challenging perspectives.

    • Accountability for the end-to-end project delivery including shaping the brief, setting up of the project approach, management of deliverables, delivery of consulting interventions and management of the internal project requirements (from quality control to budget management).

    • Accountability for content – e.g. the creative and technical aspects of written communications, the structure and approach of digital and non digital items, and branding aspects such as look and feel.

    • Coordination of project teams that may range from 2 to up to 10 project team members.

    • Coordination of deliverables with our creative partners – both the internal design studio and external vendors.

  • Represent the trusted advisor role through deep understanding of clients, quality advice and flawless execution. Contribute to successful and long-term partner relationships with clients by assuming this trusted advisor role .

  • Bring technical knowledge of the UK’s Pensions and Benefits space, i.e. understanding legislative and consumer changes, knowing client demands, and helping to shape our response.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative client strategies and solutions which results in significant revenue growth.

  • Support and improve our involvement and connection with key internal stakeholders in our Retirement, Administration and Investment businesses.

  • Achieve individual delivery goals.

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • Solid experience in benefit communications and engagement. Ideally but not necessarily in a consulting role.

  • Excellent in delivery and execution of communications and engagement projects.

  • Strong creative skills as well as quality focused and attention to detail.

  • Disciplines in consumer engagement principles, approaches and techniques including marketing and communication approaches.

  • Experience of managing project teams and leading project governance.

  • Experience in developing and delivering engagement approaches across both digital and non-digital channels.

  • Familiarity with the wider retirement, benefits and administration market place.

  • Technically proficient in UK benefits and pensions; enough to be able to manage, direct and review the creation of content.
