The Business

Our Retirement Systems Group creates and supports software for the Retirement, Health and Group Benefits and Group Services and Solutions businesses.  Our purpose is to help the departments we work with realize their full potential.

The Role

MUST have experience with Azure Cloud Application to be considered for this position.  Though we would ideally like to have this person in our DC/Arlington office, we will consider candidates from other locations as well.

  • Lead the migration of existing OnPrem to Cloud Server Microsoft Azure for a large application environment
  • Support, maintain and enhance Azure Environments
  • Integrate tools used across the software development lifecycle to increase efficiency
  • Promote knowledge development for team-members, ensuring they are upskilled in all relevant DevOps practices/use of tools
  • Maintain deployment scripts
  • Maintain backups, monitoring and logging solutions
  • Support Azure elastic applications
  • Work with the development teams to deploy Azure solutions

This position is well suited for someone who wants to leverage their extensive Microsoft Azure experience to improve the system and impact many clients.

A Few Select Responsibilities: 

  • Manage scripting process to build new automatic server
  • Work closely with internal developers to ensure project requirements are understood so as to successfully build out new environments.
  • Responsible for creating test plans, and testing system changes and enhancements to ensure completeness and accuracy.  
  • Provide guidance/assistance to team members where needed to help ensure issues are resolved by assigned due date.  Escalate concerns with ability to meet due dates to PM.
  • Research issues determine root cause and provide impact analysis for ongoing issues and changes

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • Significant proven experience with Microsoft Azure, including App Services, Azure SQL, Traffic Manager, Azure Storage, VNETs, IaaS VMs and VM Scale Set
  • Proficient with performance, high availability and scaling in Azure
  • Experienced at Azure Resource Manager templates
  • Experienced at implementing DevOps practices using the .NET stack
  • Experienced at Visual Studio Team Services, TeamCity or Octopus Deploy
  • Demonstrated proficiency with large-scale cloud-based web applications
  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle, from inception to design, implementation, deployment and support.
  • Must know PowerShell Scripting
  • Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution
  • Strong analytical, integrative and problem solving skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills and client service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and with virtual work teams across different geographic regions
  • Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Ability to participate in some travel and work extended hours as needed
