The Business
The Legal Department is responsible for advising on legal issues that arise in the course of business, ranging from litigation and claims, to commercial and corporate transactions and contracts, to employment law and compliance and regulatory issues. We provide seamless legal support on a global basis, with professional staff located in the US, Canada, UK, Continental Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, China and South Africa. We are proud to be a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (“LCLD”), which was formed in 2009 to advance diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
The Role
Willis Towers Watson is seeking two First Year law students to assist the Legal Department of a large, publicly-held, global brokerage, benefits, and human capital consulting company during the summer of 2021. The LCLD Internship program will run for ten weeks and will require approximately 40 hours per week beginning Monday, May 10th or May 17th (depending on when law school finals are complete). The individual will be exposed to a wide range of general corporate legal matters, including contracts, licensing, employment law, insurance regulation, trademarks, real estate, securities, litigation, etc. These positions will be virtual positions.
The 1L LCLD Scholars Program provides first-year law students the developmental opportunity to work side-by-side with attorneys and other legal specialists and to learn more about potential career paths within the legal profession and what it is like to work as an in-house attorney. All 1L LCLD Scholars will attend the LCLD Virtual Scholars Summit.
