The Business

The Head of Marine Practise Group drives revenue growth through creating and developing leads by specifically targeting opportunities in the Maritime and Shipping Industry in Indonesia as well as developing a new prospect pipeline from new industry initiatives in a fully compliant and ethical manner. He will utilise the expertise of our Specialisms and Placement teams to develop winning proposals for prospects.

The Role

Principal Accountability :


Manager of People / Individual Contributor:

Work with the Regional Specialism Teams, members of the Indonesian new business team and the local heads of the other industry practise groups.



Geographic Scope of Role:

Indonesia and with close liaison with other Asia/Pac offices especially Singapore



Budgetary and risk management responsibilities:

Responsible for creation of new business to meet individual or team budget where applicable.



Revenue responsibilities:

New Sales



Others:

Work with placement teams and then hand over won clients to the servicing teams


Principal Duties / Responsibility :

  • Developing leads from industry contacts and network.

  • Develop new prospects by monitoring inward investment opportunities

  • Development of leads to successful conclusion

  • Management and maintenance of pipeline leads through existing systems

  • Self generate prospect meetings and liaise with Global Specialties to create further sales appointments

  • Work with the Specialism teams, Industry Practise Heads, Account Executive and Placement teams to develop winning proposals for prospects

    • Grow and develop prospect pipeline so that it is robust enough to exceed sales targets

    • Meet, as a minimum, new sales targets

    • Strictly adhere to all processes with high level of integrity and compliance

    Work with the respective Specialist and Placement teams to develop a practise group that is industry focused and not product focused.



    Internal:

    • Country Manager – weekly

    • Head of Sales Indonesia - daily

    • Branch staff – daily

    • Division Heads – daily

    • Regional Specialism team – weekly and when required

    • Servicing Teams - daily



    External:

    Prospects & Clients – daily



Job Requirements

The Requirements



Qualifications:

10+ years working in the Marine and shipping industry. Insurance industry exposure is highly preferable



Skills:

  • Excellent communicator

  • Team player

  • Attention to detail and quality – ‘right first time’ mentality

  • IT & systems literate – Microsoft Office

  • Managerial ability re: motivation, decision making & delegation



Knowledge/Experience:

  • Insurance industry exposure is highly preferable

  • Managing 1-2 people – Sales environment highly preferable

  • Demonstrable track record of success in a sales role.
