The Role

Reporting to the Regional Counsel for Willis’ Latin America business, you will support the legal needs of the Brazil CEO whose responsibilities include the Management of Willis Towers Watson’s Brazil operations.  The role will manage a stimulating and varied range of legal issues, contentious and non-contentious matters, with and without the assistance of local external counsel.

Job Requirements

The Requirements

You will have strong academic qualifications and gained experience either in-house in an insurance environment or at a specialist (re)insurance law firm.  You will be a Portuguese  speaker. Your experience will include at least some of the following:

  • understanding legal issues surrounding governance of international consultancy, insurance and (re)insurance brokers’ products;

  • researching and advising on regulatory issues in Brazil as they apply to brokers’ duties and obligations;

  • drafting, negotiating, amending commercial agreements relating to the provision of consultancy, broker and agency services;

  • providing general guidance to business operations on legal and regulatory issues arising out of the provision of consultancy, broking or agency services;

  • managing and resolving contentious claims against brokers and consultancy services providers;

  • reporting to and managing relationships with professional indemnity insurers and senior management;

  • manage and supervise the Corporate Secretariat functions for the WTW Brazil legal entities;  

  • languages: very good English required (both written and oral proficiency). Spanish would be plus but not a pre-requisite.
