The Business

An accomplished Analyst is required to join the Data Services team to support all aspects of the central Reference Data Store, at Willis Towers Watson (WTW), a Global Financial Services organisation.

The Data Programme is a strategic initiative to build a suite of consolidated data stores combining data from multiple sources across the organisation and making it available for consumption by other strategic applications. 

Access to standard reference data and authoritative data stores means that we can combine data across geographies and businesses enabling us to innovate and serve our clients better.

The Role

The Data Stores are supported by the Data Services Team who responsible for providing all elements of the service to business teams, consumers and stakeholders.  This includes service availability, access and provisioning, data quality, data reconciliation with source systems, exception handling and enabling data governance. 

The successful applicant for this role will be involved in all aspects of support for Reference Data and Collibra. In addition to this, the successful candidate will assist with the administration involved with the engagement/onboarding of consumers to any other stores/services that the Data Services Team support.

Financial Services Industry experience is not essential for this role, but an ability to rapidly become effective in new domains/disciplines is.

WTW will support your development with a combination of formal training, and first-hand experience working with high-performing colleagues in the delivery of a major data strategy initiative.

  • Supporting other WTW teams with understanding of the data assets

  • Engagement and adoption/onboarding of new Consumers

  • Reporting of adoption of new Consumers

  • Maintenance of Consumer matrix

  • Maintenance of Consumer SharePoint site

  • Maintenance of Consumer distribution lists

  • Maintenance of both team and Consumer-facing documentation

  • Facilitate Reference Data Consumer Forum

  • Responding to data queries from Consumers (including guiding them through the ticket process where applicable)

  • Exception handling (exceptions and validation errors on loads from source systems)

  • Coordinating  and assisting the Data Stewards with data changes, MDS queries and resolving Data Integrity issues

  • Assisting Project team with mapping activities/configuration and testing/validation

  • Communication of Reference Data changes to Consumers

  • Maintenance and support of Collibra (approval workflow, glossaries, roles/user access, training, user support)

  • Support the Data Domain Owners and SMEs with their responsibilities

  • Any other duties as required 

Job Requirements

The Requirements


  • Experience of Data Governance processes

  • Experience of managing configuration

  • Knowledge of MDS, SQL and Collibra preferred – but not essential. 


  • Customer Service orientation with a strong bias toward action

  • Ability to perform effective stakeholder management – adjusting communication delivery to suit audience, and adjusting behaviour to suite political environment(s).

  • Ability to plan and organize Support and Project work

  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem solving skills
