The Business

Willis Towers Watson's investment business aims to change investment for the better for the benefit of its clients.  To achieve this, we look to hire and retain the best people, provide opportunities for them to continue to develop their skills and then empower them to make a difference.  Our client base of leading investment institutions (including many of the world’s largest pension funds, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds) demand excellence and creative solutions to the investment challenges they face.

Our business is developing in exciting new ways and at the forefront of these is our effort to support more clients in specialist areas of their asset portfolio (eg, equity, liquid alternatives, private markets etc).  Our large team of investment professionals, spanning capital markets, portfolio management and fund selection creates a unique platform from which to continue to grow our business in specialist areas.  This is a key focus of Inv2020, our strategic plan.

The team responsible for this part of our business is the Specialist Portfolio Solutions or SPS team.  SPS are client-friendly, subject matter experts with a commercial focus responsible for driving growth in our specialist solutions business.

  • Be the ‘go to’ subject matter expert within the business for equity solutions

  • Leading live pursuit processes, partnering with internal colleagues to tailor the message to our clients and displaying business development discipline through the process

Client management

  • Post-appointment, working closely with other WTW colleagues to lead the relationship in equity solutions

  • Overseeing the preparation, review and despatch of client papers

Sales support and discipline

  • Partnering with regional Business Development functions and Advisory Portfolio Managers across the globe to prepare presentations and other sales material for prospects
