The Business

The Finance function serves both internal and external customers: colleagues within our company, client organizations, shareholders, financial institutions, vendors and regulatory agencies around the world. This role resides in our FP&A practice within Finance.

The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key business partner supporting our Exchange Solutions segment.  This highly visible position will provide broad exposure across the organization and will play a critical role in ensuring one of Willis Towers Watson’s emerging segments continues to grow beyond expectations.   The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Exchange Solutions Senior Finance Manager and play an instrumental role in the forecasting, planning and reporting activities for the segment. A successful candidate will be client centric, team oriented, analytical, an effective communicator and will have the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines. 

Responsibilities 

  • Oversees the annual planning and forecasting process; administers the programming and compilation of data in order to provide accurate budget information to various departments and the delivery of a final budget for enterprise financial planning purposes. Drive appropriate collaboration and  co-ordination between key stakeholders

  • Provide decision support through financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting.

  • Provide actionable analysis of revenue, margins, expenses, productivity, profitability, and budget/forecast variance analysis

  • Gather, compile, analyze, prepare and summarize data for complex financial projects/subjects such as staff planning, compensation planning, variable compensation structure, real estate planning & utilization, etc.

  • Evaluate financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advise management accordingly to ensure achievement of targeted financial performance.

  • Exercise judgment to determine appropriate course of action and prepare business recommendations based on sound financial analysis.

  • Participate in the development of strategic and operational objectives that are aligned to Segment and Company strategic objectives.

  • Manage multiple aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial closing and reporting processes. Partner with the accounting team during the close to ensure actuals are presented accurately and in accordance with GAAP

Job Requirements

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA a plus

  • 5+ years’ experience of financial analysis and budgeting experience required.  Experience with both strategic and operational analyses preferred.

  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills are required; experience with Oracle financials and Hyperion Essbase is a strong plus

  • Demonstrated capability in effectively influencing business partners through diplomacy, building consensus, negotiating, and exercising leadership skills

  • Team player with a positive outlook - open to cross-training and sharing team responsibilities

  • Ability to work within a lean team in a fast paced environment that requires a strong work ethic, sense of urgency, flexibility, and commitment to deliver on time

  • Analytical and structured thinker that possesses exceptional attention to detail and can articulate complex situations in a simple way

  • Excellent time management skills, resulting in successful ability to manage multiple projects
